Mike Habig, Real Earth Products founder, saw first-hand the need for a healthier, more eco-friendly product for outdoor enthusiasts, explorers and adventurers.
An avid fly fisherman from an early age, Mike would often fish his favorite Northern Michigan waters and slather up with traditional insect repellent. However, after a long weekend of fishing he noticed it was staining his clothes, equipment and anything else he came in contact with.
So, he began to wonder—what were these chemicals doing to his skin?
He knew the solution was an all-natural one. So, he researched plants, herbs and essential oils and worked with a formulator to develop an effective insect repellent made of only one hundred percent natural and organic ingredients.
Through research, trial and error, and rounds of product testing, Real Earth Products was born. Mike started advertising in outdoor magazines, and soon found a strong following of llike-minded outdoor enthusiasts looking for a natural alternative to the chemical infested insect repellents that saturate the market.
